This will be our third annual SoCalCM event, supporting and encouraging Charlotte Mason homeschooling moms in the local area. This time, it will be uniquely outdoors and also available via live streaming for those who prefer to join us from home. Which potentially means people beyond our local area can join us too!
The amazing thing about Charlotte Mason’s methods is that they work great for our events too – because parent’s are “persons!” You know those conferences where you’re guzzling burnt coffee and holding eye lids open with toothpicks so you don’t miss anything? Well, mixing things up and changing the type of activity between talks resolves much of that – AND it’s fun!
We’re picking out folk songs, poetry, potentially nature study (I have some ideas) and hymn and art to weave throughout the day, and maybe even Swedish Drill – that curious CM component (I’ve replaced with hockey and surfing hahaha.)
Anyway, we hope you’ll join us. It’s a brief, but treasured time together in the midst of a chaotic world right now. What a blessing we’ve been gifted! We don’t take it lightly; we know each parent who attends represents a family, a childhood, a person; a home and a haven in the midst of turmoil right now. We want to do everything we can to make this a meaningful day.
