This is how it looked yesterday. Many people head indoors, but our kids learned early on to head outside to experience the rain. Our 19yo son surfed one day (not recommended in the rain!) and drove up to the local mountain the next to snowboard. Where else can you surf and snowboard a day apart?! You can see it coming down in sheets in this video clip.
There was a beautiful rainbow, the 19yo saw the full thing as he was surfing from the water, we captured a bit of it from the road.
Today the rain broke in the afternoon and we’ve had sunshine and the birds have been happy bringing a joyful mood about it.
And this one never misses an opportunity for a good back rub on the cool, wet grass.
Check out his lovely lady who came with him.
And this Egyptian Goose stopped by. We have a few of them that come up off the golf course this way. They’re beautiful but noisy and they aren’t very smart about cars. One was hit last year and I wonder if this is its other half. They’re often in pairs. Scout was a good boy and didn’t chase it. I wonder if he was confused and thought the sliding door was closed because he’s usually all about the chase!
What are you sighting in nature this Spring?
Hi Naomi.
Over here in the Southbay of Los Angeles, we are surrounded by baby chicks. Multiple breeds. We’re also welcoming our house sparrows, humming birds and mocking birds into the adventures of Spring. They are back singing in our fruit trees. Big smile. Our little cove, Cabrillo beach, has been treacherous this week and the silver lining is all of the glorious sea glass! Thanks for sharing your treasured God given finds. Sending you love from the Southbay.
Thank you for stopping by Michelle!
